What is the Special Olympics Airlift?

Textron Aviation presents the Special Olympics Airlift (SOA), which is a monumental event where CESSNA CITATION, BEECHCRAFT KING AIR, BEECHCRAFT PREMIER, BEECHCRAFT BEECHJET and HAWKER aircraft owners and operators from around the world use their aircraft to transport Special Olympics athletes and coaches to the Special Olympics USA Games. The 2022 Airlift will be the eighth SOA that Textron Aviation has coordinated, and with the help of our generous customers, industry partners and volunteers, we are able to transport thousands of athletes and their coaches from across the country to this event each year. In fact, a Textron Aviation aircraft will take off or land every two minutes as a part of this effort.

How can I get involved?

While Special Olympics athletes are preparing for competition, we are preparing to get them to the 2022 USA Games with your help. The 2022 USA Games will take place in Orlando, FL with athletes arriving on June 4, 2022 and departing June 12, 2022.

AIRCRAFT STILL NEEDED: 190

38 Aircraft Registered

Goal: 228 Aircraft

What should I expect?

With athletes traveling from all over the country, we have a wide range of locations available for you to pick up and drop off athletes. Each aircraft can expect to carry between three and seven athletes plus a coach or sponsor from their home base to the USA Games and back.

All aircraft will fly into Orlando Executive (KORL) for the games. Orlando Executive Airport is a Class D airport with a 6,004' and 4,625' runway with JET A fuel available. Our team has worked hard to create an efficient and enjoyable Airlift. We have designed the process to allow you to drop off your passengers and turn around quickly, considering ramp space limits and high traffic in the southeast corridor.

Once you are registered, you will receive a letter with an SOA decal, and a medallion for your aircraft and additional information on your participation.

Then in May 2022, you will receive a package that includes all the information you need for your Airlift participation, including your special “Dove” call sign.
